Philippines and India Eye Halt to Outsourcing Rivalry

The Philippines and India, outsourcing rivals no more.

“A little competition never hurt anyone.” This saying is indeed true, in fact in even brings out the best in each competitor. Just take a look at the Philippines and India, they’re neck and neck with regards to being the top outsourcing destinations because they strive to provide so many benefits to clients. But as with all rivalries, it appears to have come to its end.

In a report by GMA News last September 11, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said that the Philippines and India are looking for ways to complement each other’s business process outsourcing (BPO) sector instead of engaging in fierce competition.

“In the area of BPOs, we agreed to work on hopefully improving complementation in serving our respective clients in areas of complementation instead of competing,” Trade Secretary Ramon M. Lopez told reporters in Pasay City. Lopez also added that the two countries can probably jointly offer out respective services.

The Philippine IT and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) previously said it seeks to generate as much as $39 billion in revenue over the next six years.

This is definitely great news, especially to business owners who are considering outsourcing. Just goes to show that rivalries are worthwhile if it delivers brilliance and a sense of connection after everything.
