As climate challenges grow and sustainability becomes a rallying cry across the globe, taking action isn’t just an option—it’s an imperative. This year, we joined hundreds of visionaries and advocates at the 1% for the Planet Global Summit 2024 in San Diego to answer that very question. 

To our delight, our journey in environmental impact just took a major leap forward. We were recognized with the Leadership Award, a celebration of our commitment to driving sustainability and a reminder of why we’re on this mission in the first place.

Making Connections and Driving Impact

We’re all about helping businesses scale and grow, but beneath that, there’s a deeper purpose: to do good while having the least impact on our planet. We help organizations find global talent while living our core values of People, Planet, and Prosperity. 

That’s why we’re part of the 1% for the Planet community. It’s a no-frills way to make a difference, and we’re in good company with other businesses that believe in giving back.

For us, the annual 1% for the Planet Global Summit has always been a time to connect with passionate change-makers, share ideas, and reignite our commitment to sustainability. 

This year was extra special, as our Co-Founder Jamie Booth and Chief Revenue Officer Chris Mueller joined forces with fellow leaders from around the globe. They made their mark in representing B&P at the event.

Behind the Award is a Journey of Purpose and Impact

The Leadership Award is given during Global Summit to companies that exhibit exceptional leadership in environmental sustainability, and we are incredibly proud to be recognized for this honor. Our recognition stems from the meaningful actions we’ve taken over the years to reduce our environmental impact. 

Over the past year, we’ve made significant strides—shifting to sustainable products, supporting communities, and engaging in biodiversity conservation—all of which reflect our commitment to leading by example and pushing the boundaries of what businesses can do to tackle global environmental challenges.

Winning this award is a huge milestone, not just because it’s a shiny new trophy, but because it symbolizes all the dedication, responsibility, and “doing the right thing” that go on day in and day out. 

Since joining 1% for the Planet in 2019, we’ve supported impactful environmental initiatives and worked with communities to bring about real change. Whether through partnerships, contributions, or hands-on volunteer work, our commitment has been unwavering, and this award is a humbling validation of our hard work.

But let’s be real: a lot of our best work happens behind the scenes. It’s the countless hours our team spends planning, strategizing, and making seemingly small choices that add up to a much larger impact. We’ve come to learn that leadership is often about showing up, making conscious decisions, and sometimes, doing things that might not get applause but make a world of difference. And we’re grateful that 1% for the Planet has noticed the weight of these efforts.

As our company and our commitment grow, so does our responsibility to lead by example. 1% for the Planet has given us a platform to magnify our efforts and be part of a community where every member is actively working towards a more sustainable world.
